Ellenbrook Shopping Centre.
Rooftop solar across a busy Perth retail precinct, programmed around trading hours and tenant operations.
The brief.
Installing solar on an operating shopping centre is a different beast to a greenfield site. Roof access is limited, trading hours are sacred, and dozens of tenants and thousands of shoppers can't be inconvenienced. Willo Electrical delivered a large rooftop solar system across the Ellenbrook Shopping Centre with zero trading disruption - coordinating crews, isolations, and logistics around the centre's daily rhythm.
What we had to solve.
Working over a fully operating retail centre - no trading days could be lost.
Coordinating roof access with multiple tenants and centre management.
Managing isolations on shared switchboards without affecting tenancies.
Material lifts and crew movements scheduled around shopper traffic.
Strict safety controls for working above public-access areas.
How we delivered.
Stakeholder Plan
Mapped tenants, isolations, and access windows before a panel was unboxed.
Out-of-Hours Work
Loud and high-risk work programmed outside trading hours.
Modular Install
Roof broken into sections to limit impact at any one time.
Live Switching
Connection works planned with tenants individually.
Commissioning
Full testing, monitoring and handover to centre management.
The outcome.
